A Finnish startup is betting that artificial intelligence will be the engine of transformation for professional services organisations. Agileday, founded in 2022, has announced the closing of its €6.4 million Series A funding round, led by Newion with contributions from Specialist VC, Vendep Capital, and Business Finland.

The Helsinki-based company was established by Jaakko Hartikainen, Mikko Virtanen, Jaakko Hallavo, and Hannu Kärkkäinen—entrepreneurs who previously worked together at the Nordic technology giant Tieto. Inspired by first-hand experience, Agileday’s leadership identified persistent scaling and operational hurdles within modern professional services. This insight led them to design a people-centric and transparent operating platform, tailored for services organisations navigating an increasingly automated landscape.

Agileday’s core product is a professional services automation (PSA) platform. It integrates talent management, resource allocation, timesheet tracking, and project financials into a single operating system. Straddling the data flows between traditional customer relationship management (CRM) and financial systems, the platform brings together sales pipeline management, project delivery, and financial analytics in real time.

A defining feature of Agileday’s platform is its use of artificial intelligence. By embedding AI-driven coordination across departments, Agileday breaks down silos between sales, delivery, and finance. The result: enhanced visibility across the organisation, faster execution, and heightened operational efficiency, as technology continues to reshape the services sector.

"By unifying sales, project, and financial data together with people’s skills and interests into one transparent platform," said Jaakko Hartikainen, co-founder and co-CEO, "we help companies grow faster while creating the work-life people deserve."

Agileday’s approach appears to be resonating: the firm currently serves more than 70 service companies worldwide, including both high-growth consultancies and publicly listed enterprises. The new funding will enable Agileday to scale its technology platform and pursue accelerated expansion across Europe and North America.

The company’s vision underscores a broader trend in the European technology ecosystem, where AI-powered automation is rapidly permeating business operations and redefining work in the professional services sector. With a clear focus on efficiency and people, Agileday is positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation.
