TetraxAI Secures €1.5M for Clean Energy AI Risk Tools
Spanish startup TetraxAI has raised €1.5 million in pre-seed and grant funding to accelerate adoption of its AI-driven risk management platform for clean energy projects, aiming to streamline and modernise due diligence processes across Europe.
A Spanish startup is seeking to reshape how clean energy infrastructure is evaluated and financed in Europe, having secured €1.5 million in total pre-seed and grant funding. TetraxAI, founded in 2024, is building an artificial intelligence-powered platform designed to modernise due diligence and risk management for renewable energy projects—a process often criticized for its complexity and inefficiency.
The pre-seed round, worth €1.2 million, is led by The Footprint Firm, with support from Norrsken Evolve and Carbon13. Additional non-dilutive funding comes from NEOTEC, Spain’s national deeptech grant programme overseen by the Centre for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI).
Founded by Marta Vizcaíno Martín, Arnau Tibau Puig, and Ekaterina Filina, TetraxAI specifically targets the time-consuming, fragmented, and manual nature of traditional clean-energy project assessments. The startup’s software leverages AI to analyse volumes of complex documents, synthesise regulatory information, and aggregate project data for developers, investors, asset managers, and independent power producers.
Tasks such as conducting due diligence on utility-scale projects—which previously might have required weeks of scrupulous manual review—can now be completed in hours, according to user feedback cited by the company. Clients also report that the quality of analysis delivered by TetraxAI is on par with or superior to traditional advisory methods, but realised more quickly and at reduced cost.
The flagship product, TetraxVerify, automates the review of data rooms and streamlines assessment of legal, regulatory, and land-use risks for a variety of project stakeholders, including insurers and lawyers. This AI-enabled approach is designed to untangle the complexity of European clean energy markets and enable faster, better-informed investment decisions.
Marta Vizcaíno Martín, CEO and co-founder, described the funding as a crucial milestone, emphasising the strategic value investors bring from their experience in climate impact and commercial scaling.
As noted by Jakob Wichmann, Co-founder and Partner at The Footprint Firm, TetraxAI is tackling a key but often underestimated bottleneck in the energy transition:
"By dramatically reducing the time, cost, and friction of clean-energy due diligence and risk management, the team is enabling faster capital deployment into clean infrastructure."
The fresh capital will allow TetraxAI to expand its machine learning and engineering teams, broaden its coverage of European energy markets, and accelerate customer adoption among major stakeholders.
Europe remains at the forefront of the push for sustainable energy, and tools that can streamline development while maintaining regulatory standards are seen as essential for meeting climate and investment targets.
