enclaive Secures €4.1 Million for Multi-Cloud Confidential Computing
German startup enclaive has raised €4.1 million in seed funding to expand its confidential computing platform for multi-cloud environments. The investment comes amid rising security concerns linked to increased AI use and regulatory demands. The funds will support commercial growth, technology development, and international expansion.
enclaive, a German cybersecurity company specializing in confidential computing, has announced a €4.1 million seed funding round. The investment was co-led by Join Capital and the Amadeus APEX Technology Fund, with additional support from Auriga Cyber Ventures.
Confidential computing is a security approach that protects data during active processing within a "secure enclave," reducing exposure to unauthorized access. This technology is gaining relevance as the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI), evolving data protection regulations, and sophisticated cyber threats increase concerns over cloud security. Many organizations, especially in sensitive sectors such as finance, healthcare, government, and AI, remain cautious about migrating confidential workloads to the cloud due to security and compliance risks.
enclaive addresses these challenges by providing a platform that enables confidential computing across public and private cloud platforms. The system is designed to allow enterprises to deploy applications and sensitive workloads—such as AI models and microservices—within hardware-based secure enclaves, without requiring significant changes to existing software or operations.
According to enclaive’s co-founder and CEO, Andreas Walbrodt, the rapid uptake of cloud-based services, including for AI workloads, has outpaced many organizations' trust in standard cloud security measures. "With enclaive, businesses don’t need to trust the cloud—their data, microservices, and AI models are shielded from unauthorized access at every moment. We’re making confidential computing accessible for any organisation, regardless of technical expertise," Walbrodt stated.
The enclaive platform targets enterprise workloads, including Kubernetes clusters, virtual machines, and AI applications, offering a modular, vendor-agnostic architecture to simplify deployment and operational management across diverse cloud infrastructure providers.
The new funding will be directed toward commercial expansion, further development of the eMCP platform, scaling of engineering and operational teams, and the company’s initial push into international markets.
