ElevenLabs Secures $500 Million, Reaching $11 Billion Valuation
Voice AI firm ElevenLabs has raised $500 million in a round led by Sequoia, tripling its valuation to $11 billion since early 2025. The investment will underpin research, development, and international market expansion as competition heats up in the generative voice AI sector.
Voice artificial intelligence (AI) company ElevenLabs has closed a $500 million funding round, lifting its valuation to $11 billion. The round was led by Sequoia Capital, whose partner Andrew Reed will join the company’s board, and included heightened investments from Andreessen Horowitz and Iconiq.
The new valuation represents a sharp increase—more than tripling ElevenLabs’ worth since its prior round in January 2025. Sequoia’s continued involvement, along with robust backing from both existing and new investors, signals sustained confidence in the market for generative voice AI technologies. Iconiq, which led the previous round, tripled its stake, while Andreessen Horowitz quadrupled its commitment. Returning investors included BroadLight, NFDG, Valor Capital, AMP Coalition, and Smash Capital. Among the latest entrants are Lightspeed Venture Partners, Evantic Capital, and Bond. ElevenLabs stated that it plans to announce additional, potentially strategic, investors later this month.
Having now raised over $781 million in total funding, ElevenLabs intends to allocate this capital to research, product development, and geographic expansion, targeting key markets in India, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, and Mexico. The company also aims to broaden its technology’s application, pursuing offerings that stretch beyond voice, including integrating video capabilities.
CEO and co-founder Mati Staniszewski emphasized the company’s focus on translating AI research into deployable products. He outlined ambitions to expand its Creative suite—tools designed to help content creators mix audio with video and digital agents—as well as empower businesses to develop agents capable of multimodal interaction, including speech, text, and automated actions.
Recent financial performance underpins investor enthusiasm. ElevenLabs closed last year with $330 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), growing by $100 million in just five months, according to statements cited from a Bloomberg interview. The rapid revenue growth mirrors escalating demand for advanced generative voice technologies in enterprise settings.
Generative voice AI leverages deep learning techniques—such as neural networks trained on large audio datasets—to create natural-sounding synthetic speech and enable applications ranging from customer service automation to content generation.
Investor interest in voice AI remains strong across the sector. In January, Deepgram, a fellow voice AI company, raised $130 million at a $1.3 billion valuation and acquired a Y Combinator-backed startup. Similarly, Google expanded its voice technology capabilities by recruiting leadership talent from model developer Hume AI, reflecting intensifying competition in the domain.
The sector’s growth underscores the strategic value many stakeholders ascribe to AI-driven voice automation, particularly as enterprises deploy these solutions for customer interaction, productivity, and media creation.
