Google Gemini Reaches 750 Million Monthly Users in Q4 2025
Google's AI chatbot Gemini surpassed 750 million monthly active users in the fourth quarter of 2025. The growth aligns with the launch of Gemini 3 and comes as Google records over $400 billion in annual revenue, supported by expansion in its AI division.
Google’s artificial intelligence chatbot, Gemini, reached 750 million monthly active users in the fourth quarter of 2025, according to the company’s latest earnings report. The figure marks a significant increase from 650 million in the previous quarter, reflecting rapid user adoption and growing engagement with AI-powered tools.
With this milestone, Gemini has overtaken Meta AI, which reported nearly 500 million monthly active users. Though OpenAI's ChatGPT remains the most widely used AI chatbot, with approximately 810 million monthly users as of late 2025, Gemini's trajectory underscores its rising prominence within the sector.
The reported user growth coincided with the introduction of Gemini 3, the latest iteration of Google's large language model. Large language models (LLMs) are sophisticated AI systems trained to comprehend and generate text with advanced depth and nuance. Google describes Gemini 3 as its most capable model to date, with improved performance in complex conversations. Chief Executive Sundar Pichai, during the earnings call, characterized Gemini 3 as a "positive driver" for company growth and emphasized the importance of sustained investment and development in AI technologies.
In addition to product enhancements, Google introduced the AI Plus subscription plan, priced at $7.99 per month, to provide users with access to premium features. While the launch was too recent to impact fourth-quarter user figures, executives anticipate that the combination of a free tier and subscription model will help broaden the platform's reach. Philipp Schindler, Google's Chief Business Officer, remarked that the balanced approach is already resulting in strong user growth.
Alphabet, Google's parent company, surpassed $400 billion in annual revenue for the first time in the same period. The company attributed much of this achievement to rising demand for AI and related technologies. Expansion of the AI division supported both new consumer products like Gemini and next-generation hardware initiatives.
Significantly, Google also announced Ironwood, its latest Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) AI accelerator chip. Designed to bolster AI infrastructure and improve computational efficiency, Ironwood is positioned to compete with established players such as Nvidia in the high-performance AI hardware market.
As competition intensifies among leading AI chatbot providers, Google's push for innovation through Gemini and its hardware advances signals the company's commitment to long-term leadership in generative AI.
