Mozart AI, a London-based startup developing artificial intelligence tools for music creators, has raised $6 million in an oversubscribed seed round. The investment, led by Balderton Capital, included participation from Mercuri, EWOR, Kevin Hartz, Charles Ferguson, Emery Wells, and other strategic angels with backgrounds in music, AI, and creator technology.

This latest round follows an earlier pre-seed investment, bringing Mozart AI’s total funding to over $7 million. The company has concurrently launched a mobile application to support its user base.

Mozart AI’s central offering is an AI-native digital audio workstation (DAW) that blends conventional music production methods with AI-assisted and prompt-based workflows. Unlike traditional DAWs, which often require significant technical expertise, this platform enables creators of all skill levels to compose music from scratch or utilise AI agents to generate musical elements and full tracks. AI agents are automated systems that handle creative or technical tasks based on user input.

Key features of the platform include stem generation (audio breakdown into separate tracks like vocals or drums), MIDI progressions, drum patterns, synthesizer and effects creation, and automatic sound remixing. The system also automates time-consuming production tasks such as quantisation (aligning notes to musical timing) and time stretching (altering tempo without changing pitch). Users are further empowered to create music videos and publish their work directly to social media platforms from within the app.

Mozart AI emphasises that artists maintain full creative control and retain copyright ownership of the music they produce. The platform utilises commercially cleared third-party generative models, which are trained on licensed material, allowing works created with Mozart AI to be used commercially. Generative AI in this context refers to systems that can produce new audio, images, or text based on prompts or existing data inputs.

Sundar Arvind, CEO and co-founder of Mozart AI, stated, “Mozart AI is building powerful generative tools for the next era of collaborative music creation that will enable every artist – from casual creators to professional producers – to turn any idea into a release-ready song in minutes, with commercial rights.”

Since launching its beta version in September, Mozart AI reports strong initial adoption, recording over 100,000 user registrations and more than one million songs created within the first two months. The latest funding will be used to expand the team, further develop the platform’s core technology, and prepare for a broader public release.
