Noxtua Launches Europe’s First Cross-Border Legal AI License
Noxtua has launched the first Europe-wide legal AI license, providing a unified platform for legal professionals to operate across multiple jurisdictions. The license is supported by partnerships with leading European legal publishers and meets stringent privacy and legal standards.
European legal technology firm Noxtua has unveiled what it calls the first Europe License for legal AI, aiming to streamline cross-border legal work for professionals practicing in multiple European jurisdictions. The new offering allows lawyers, in-house counsel, and public sector bodies to conduct research, analysis, and document drafting for different countries within one interface and under a single license.
Europe’s legal sector is notable for its complexity, shaped by diverse legal traditions, languages, and regulatory frameworks. Multinational corporations and international law firms frequently encounter hurdles when handling cases that span several European countries. Noxtua’s Europe License is specifically designed for professionals needing reliable legal information and tools across borders, with its initial geographic coverage starting in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, and Switzerland).
Dr. Leif-Nissen Lundbækm, CEO and co-founder of Noxtua, highlighted that European cooperation is central to the solution: “Legal professionals working across borders no longer need to navigate separate systems for each jurisdiction. This is what sovereign European legal AI can deliver, a practical solution built on the foundation of strong publisher partnerships.”
A legal AI workspace integrates various artificial intelligence technologies, including natural language processing and large language models (LLMs), to assist with legal research, document analysis, and drafting. Traditionally, access to legal AI tools has been limited to single jurisdictions due to legal complexity and data requirements.
Noxtua’s Europe License builds on established collaborations with leading legal publishers, including C.H.BECK (Germany), MANZ (Austria), Helbing Lichtenhahn (Switzerland), Wydawnictwo C.H.Beck (Poland), Nakladatelství C. H. Beck (Czech Republic), and Nakladateľstvo C. H. Beck (Slovakia). These partnerships enable the aggregation of local legal data, expertise, and jurisdictional differences within the platform.
Prof. Dr. Klaus Weber, member of the Executive Board of C.H.BECK Media Group, commented, “Noxtua's European License combines [Europe’s legal diversity]: through close cooperation with publishers in different countries, the specific differences between jurisdictions are taken into account, allowing lawyers to access a wealth of legal data and expertise via a single interface.”
In a sector where privacy, professional secrecy, and regulatory compliance are mission-critical, Noxtua stresses its European infrastructure credentials. All data is processed exclusively in high-security data centers operated by European partners such as IONOS and the Open Telekom Cloud. The platform meets strict legal and data protection requirements and carries certifications including BSI C5, ISO 42001, ISO 27001, and ISO 9001.
The Europe License is currently being rolled out in beta, initially available free of charge to existing users of Noxtua’s country-specific legal AI workspaces. The company expects to expand coverage and publisher partnerships over time as part of its European strategy.
