French artificial intelligence startup Mistral has announced a multi-year partnership with global consultancy Accenture, aiming to assist companies in deploying and customising AI solutions for long-term use.

Under the agreement, Accenture will gain access to Mistral's suite of AI models, known for their open-source approach and flexibility. The partnership reflects the growing trend among AI companies to encourage businesses to move beyond experimental applications of AI and invest in fully integrated, long-term adoption.

Mistral, recently valued at approximately €11.7 billion, is recognised as one of Europe’s leading AI model developers. The company sees the future of AI in enterprise markets as rooted in offering customisable and adaptable systems, allowing organisations to tailor AI technologies to unique operational needs.

The collaboration will extend beyond simply providing access to technology. Mistral and Accenture have committed to co-developing new AI products and to supporting clients in implementing AI that complies with regional regulations and standards. Additionally, the deal includes the introduction of training and certification programmes, as well as granting Accenture’s employees access to Mistral’s AI Studio—a platform enabling quick development of AI agents and bespoke applications.

Mistral’s expanding client base includes major multinational corporations such as SAP, Cisco, and ASML Holdings, underscoring its strategy to position itself not just as a model provider but as a supplier of comprehensive AI infrastructure.

In a statement, Mauro Macchi, Accenture’s CEO for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, highlighted the appeal of Mistral’s technology for enterprise clients seeking both performance and control. "By partnering with Mistral AI, a leading global innovator, we bring together sovereign models and the capability to scale technology across industries, geographies and business functions," Macchi said.

Arthur Mensch, CEO and co-founder of Mistral, described the collaboration as a significant milestone for global industries adopting AI. "Together, we will help organisations deploy AI that meets their needs for performance, control, and customisation," Mensch noted, emphasizing the focus on tangible returns from AI deployments.

This partnership comes amid increasing demand for flexible, secure, and locally compliant AI solutions, as businesses seek to scale digital transformation strategies while remaining aligned with evolving regulations and industry standards, particularly in Europe.
