Retailgrid, a Helsinki-based retail technology startup, has raised €358,000 in a pre-seed funding round to accelerate the development of its AI-powered analytics platform designed for retailers and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies. The round was led by Finnish B2B SaaS investors Ali Omar, Henry Nilert, and Pekka Ylitalo, with additional participation from Innovestor Angel CoFund.

Retailgrid’s core product is an AI-enhanced workbook aimed at streamlining retail workflows such as pricing, assortment planning, and demand forecasting. According to the company, many mid-sized retailers and FMCG firms continue to rely on manual spreadsheet processes or turn to external consultants for these critical decisions. Enterprise software alternatives are frequently too complex or costly for this segment of the market.

The Retailgrid platform seeks to bridge this gap by providing a cloud-based solution that integrates the flexibility of traditional spreadsheets with the analytical power and automation of artificial intelligence. The system connects directly to existing retail data sources, including ERP systems, e-commerce platforms, and external market-data feeds. Users are able to generate detailed pricing models, sales forecasts, and assortment recommendations using natural language prompts—a capability powered by AI algorithms for data analysis and prediction. The platform maintains transparency by allowing users to review the data and logic underlying each suggestion.

According to Retailgrid, the platform includes pre-built AI agents that address frequent retail use cases, such as price optimisation, sales forecasting, assortment planning, competitor monitoring, and promotion analysis. These tools are designed to reduce operational complexity and speed up analytics workflows, helping mid-market retailers to make data-driven decisions at scale.

Maxim Morozov, CEO and founder of Retailgrid, commented, “Every retailer we talk to says the same thing: we already do this in Excel—but it’s breaking. Our job is to give them a tool that feels as flexible as the spreadsheet they know but actually scales with their data and their decisions.”

The company’s client base primarily consists of omnichannel retailers and FMCG brands in sectors including grocery, fashion, beauty, DIY, and specialty retail. The new investment will allow Retailgrid to further develop its AI Grid platform, expand its European customer footprint, and grow both engineering and commercial teams.
