TSMC Commits to Wind Power to Support AI Chip Production Amid Energy Strain
TSMC has signed a 30-year agreement to purchase all power from Taiwan's Hai Long offshore wind project in response to rising energy demands from AI chip production. The wind farms are expected to support both the company's operations and Taiwan's broader grid, amid concerns about the national energy supply. The Hai Long project aims to be fully operational by 2027.
